About

Living TIMELINES is a small business which has evolved from years of study and work in Archaeology, Anthropology, Multicultural & Indigenous Education, Art and Art Therapy, cross-cultural and interfaith work.

My passion in life is inspiring people to live and work with a greater sense of well-being and empowerment, and I fill my own life with many art making projects. I have also always been keen to promote understanding and harmony through learning.

It was not surprising that my interests all coalesced into work in art therapy and education.

For many years I worked in multicultural education as a teacher and writer. I trained as an art therapist in 2009 and began immediately seeing individual clients and working in aged care with therapeutic art groups. After many years' experience in aged care, my skills as an aged care sleuth have been honed, and I now work also with some individual elders to improve their quality of life with some thoughtful interventions.

When I painted an illustrated timeline featuring our travel itinerary in 2010, I had no idea what rich pickings lay untapped. Our canvas scroll of richly textured and coloured miniatures, became the prototype for a unique idea.

“A picture is worth a thousand words”

An illustrated timeline has a unique role to play in illuminating our hearts and minds.

The timelines I make have the quality, charm and touch that are seen less and less, especially in the area of educational resources. I use acrylic paint on canvas and fine papers to produce a rich colour and texture. I also work in a wider range of media and with associated artists, according to the brief.

The art I am privileged to either make or witness being made in art therapy can inspire us to linger, explore, learn and synthesise.

My hope is to bring history to life for the greatest number.
